paper+cup

paper+cup is my all time favorite letterpress company and has been for awhile. I absolutely love the work they do. They are, of course, out of Brooklyn, which seems like the center of most cool design these days (although as letterpress goes, the West Coast seems to do pretty well for itself). I think they have a great eye and wonderful execution. The silogirls are my favorite. I bought a pack awhile ago, and last night I framed three to put up in my apartment.*

I also love the silos of the kids. My favorite one is the yellow kid. You can't see well in this photo, but he/she (hard to tell from a silhouette) has a 80s rocker hairdo (think characters on Jem) and is holding an electric guitar. The inscription on this card is "you rock".

It's hard to tell from this picture who truly beautiful the cards in the lovely series are, but they're really great. So delicate and antique seeming.

*They have close-ups of individual cards on the website that were formatted in such a way that I couldn't but them up on the site, so please take the time to click on each image to see the way each card really looks. You won't regret it!
