Help McSweeney's

I just heard about the bankruptcy of Publishers Group West, a company that helps small presses distribute their books to stores all over the country, and the effect this is having on small presses. One of the presses affected by the whole mess is McSweeney's, publisher of The Believer, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern and numerous books, beloved by me and I'm sure countless others. They ave now been picked up by another distributor, but they are most likely going to loose 30% of their profits from October, November, and December, the most important months for small presses. You can read more on the McSweeney's website, or you can read this article from the San Fransisco Chronicle. While there is not all that much we can do, in order to help them out, we can buy books directly form their website. That way they receive the money immediately, hopefully helping them make it though this hard time if only a bit. So if you love small presses and specifically McSweeney's or you've been eyeing a McSweeney's book, order it from them website and help them out as much as you can.
